CF Tomorrow!

It's a little late, yes, but just a friendly reminder that we've got our first CF of the year tomorrow after school!

We'll be meeting in the school hall at 1 P.M! There'll be fun, excitement, and a great chance to connect with God and have fellowship with each other!

Can you feel the excitement that we're trying to convey with all these exclamation marks?!!

There will be, although not in this order :

- A message

- Praise and Worship

- Games

- Drum-roll please ... FOOD! Yes, we will be providing some light snacks for you guys. Don't expect anything heavy, though.



So do take the time to visit us in the hall after school. Don't forget; CF is that club where you're always welcome, and everyone knows your name!

2012 Form Five Farewell

Today was bittersweet as we had to send off our beloved seniors. The fantastic Form Five Farewell, as well as having an amazing alliterative appeal, was jam-packed with activities as we closed a chapter on our lives and opened up a new one.

Mr Jacob shared a message on the importance of standing firm in God, and encouraged the Form Fives to continue setting an example as ambassadors of God. He topped it off by singing for them and inviting the whole CF to sing along.

After that the Form Fives were treated to a performance by their juniors, who had spent half the school day rehearsing.

And then the time was passed to Stephanie, who shared her five-year experience in the CF.

Finally, we ended with all the Form Fives in a line, while the juniors shook their hands and gave them heartfelt wishes.

We truly had an amazing, emotional time today. 2012 has been a wonderful year, full of ups and downs, but God has remained faithful to us and we shall remain faithful to Him.

The 2013 Committee positions will be posted soon, so remember to check often!

High Praise CF SMKSU | W.O.A.H.

Hello everyone!! How are you all doing?? How was Subang Rally 2012?? Wasn't it AWESOME?!?! We hope that everyone who attended the event had an awesome time with God!! :D As this year's Subang Rally theme is UNCHAINED, we hope that you have unchained yourselves from all the sin and guilt that has been holding you back!! Kudos to the Subang Rally committee too for making this year's Subang Rally awesome!! 

As you all know, there is yet another event coming up... HIGH PRAISE CF SMKSU!! High Praise is a CF session where we focus mainly on praise and worship. There will be a total of 10 songs and high praise is usually 45 minutes long!! So make sure you look forward to High Praise happening on the 27 of July in the school hall!! Don't forget to invite your friends too!! The more the merrier!! :D

3-DAY COUNTDOWN TO SUBANG RALLY

Hey everyone!!! GUESS WHAT?!?! SUBANG RALLY IS IN 3 DAYS!! YEAHHH!!! WOOOOHHOOOOO!! 

Yup, you heard right!! Our annual Subang Rally event is in 3 days!! Are you guys as excited as we are?? We hope you are!! For those who have already register for it, GREAT JOB!! For those who have not, don't fret! You could always sign up on the day itself at the registration counter!! So we hope that we'll see you there and together we'll have an awesome and unforgettable experience praising and worshiping God together in this extraordinary event!! Remember, it is this Saturday at Taylor's Lakeside Campus, conference is from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm, and night concert is from 7.30 pm onwards!! See you there!! :D

PRE-RALLY

Hello everyone!! How are you all doing?? Can you guess what event is coming up in the next 2 weeks?!?! SUBANG RALLY!!!

This goes out to all the volunteers volunteering during Subang Rally, there is a PRE-RALLY this Sunday (9 June 2012) from 2.00pm to 5.00pm at First Baptist Church, SS17/1D. If you are volunteering for any of the departments, ushering, grounds, security, registration or even merchandise, please attend the pre-rally on Sunday. Your respective heads of departments will brief you guys of your jobs and roles during the event.

Getting Serious With God

Hey everyone!! Today we shall be doing a little scripture reading!! Are you excited to read the Word of God? Today's topic is about "GETTING SERIOUS WITH GOD". As a Christian, this is the most fundamental basis in our daily life; living a life full of love, compassion and mercy, just like the Lord has willed us. But how many of us actually put aside 15 minutes of our time, just for the Lord and PRAY or READ THE WORD? 

As students, our school life can be a bit hectic, with all the homework and assignments and whatnot going here and there. We tend to engross ourselves in these activities that we sometimes forget our true purpose here on Earth. As life progresses through the technological era, luxuries such as the usage of internet and also  luxurious mobile and electrical devices are served to us on a silver platter. All we have to do is open our mouths to receive it. People tend to preoccupy themselves with such materialistic treasures of this world that they forget what awaits them up in heaven.

"Do you not know that those running in a race all run, but one receives the prize? So run, that you may obtain. And everyone who strives for the mastery is temperate in all things. Then those truly that they may receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible." (1Co 9:24-25)

Have you guys ever wondered why are shopping malls and shopping complexes continue to rise from the ground, but churches no where to be found? It's because of these luxuries that people are starting to put God aside and embracing the worldly offers. Life on this earth is a vapor compared to the eternal life granted to those who obey in Heaven. Here is a text which I found which made a lot of sense about Christians nowadays, they claim to be godly, but they do not walk in the ways that the Lord has willed:

"Were I a religionist did I truly, firmly, consistently believe as millions say they do, that the knowledge and practice of religion in this life influences destiny in another life, religion should be to me everything. I would cast aside earthly thoughts and feelings as less than vanity.  Religion would be my first waking thought and my last image when sleep sunk me into unconsciousness. I would labor for her cause alone.  I wouldn't labor for the meat that perishes nor for treasures on earth but only for a crown of glory in the heavenly regions where treasures and happiness are alike beyond the reach of time and chance.  I would take thought to the morrow of eternity alone.  I would esteem one soul gained to heaven worth a lifetime of suffering.  There should be neither worldly prudence nor calculating circumspection in my engrossing zeal.  Earthly consequences should never stay my hand or seal my lips.  I would speak to the imagination, awaken the feelings, stir up the passions, arouse the fancy.  Earth: its joys and its griefs should never occupy a moment of my thoughts for these are but the affairs of a portion of eternity so small that no language can express it's comparatively infinite littleness.  I should strive to look but on eternity and on the immortal souls around me soon to be everlastingly miserable or everlastingly happy.  I would deem all who thought only of this world, merely seeking to increase temporal happiness, and laboring to obtain temporal goods; I would deem all such as purely madmen.  I would go forth to the world and preach to it in season and out of season.  And my text should be "what should it profit a man if he should gain the whole world, and lose his own soul." – Unknown

I will make a short summary about this text. It says that as Christians, we should spend more time with the Lord, sowing seeds and watering His garden, instead of basking our lives in worldly luxuries that are close to nothing compared to what Heaven can provide us. As Christians, we know better than anyone else that the true prize awaits us in Heaven. All we have to do is do God's will; love one another, pray and read the bible, praise and worship Him, be an ambassador for Him on this earth!! Who knows what awaits us in Heaven if we actually took the time to do out His Will? Will the profit greatly outnumber the disadvantage? YES!! It's is there that we gain eternal life and glory!! 

• Remember that the highest goal in life is not to have fun but to give glory to your Maker and Redeemer. • Watch your time carefully.  Your life here is a vapor.  Make the most of it. • Serve the Lord – in this way you’ll lay up treasure in Heaven, rather than on earth (Mat 6:20). • Spend time in devotion to God and in fellowship with godly people who also take the Lord seriously. • Think about death often and gain a perspective of eternity.  If you were on your deathbed right now, what would you wish you had done with this life?  Thousands and millions of years from now, what will you wish you had done with this life? • Remember that Satan is striving to get you not to think about eternity and the judgment. • Observe how seriously our Lord Jesus and the apostles spoke about life in the bible. • Fear God. Take His word seriously. Obey it.

We are calling out to all Christians in SMK Subang Utama, JOIN US FOR MORNING PRAYER!! If you are truly touched by this scripture, but don't know where to start, just come for morning prayer!! It is a very good way to establish a simple relationship and a foundation in the Lord. Starting the day with the Lord brings forth miracles in your life. The Lord can touch those who are in need and heal those who are sick!! Morning prayer is EVERYDAY from 7.10 to 7.25 AM at the SCHOOL FIELD. Bring your friends along if you feel lonely!! :D And we shall see you there!!
